Eurosono deploys CODA Audio system for rap and R&B spectacular at LDLC Arena …
“It was rewarding to see Eurosono gaining confidence and targeting larger opportunities in this way. Sometimes the available audio inventory can limit the scale of projects a company is able to pursue, but Eurosono’s success on this event demonstrated what we have all been working towards: a mature and well-established French CODA Audio rental network, ease of deployment, and full compatibility across the VCA family of systems. This project is the perfect example of how the CODA Audio ecosystem enables rental companies to scale seamlessly and confidently tackle larger, more demanding productions.”
‘Fusion – La Nuit Rap’ was a four hour non-stop live show which took place recently in front of 10,000 fans at the LDLC Arena in Lyon. The show featured major French rap and R&B artists, including Gazo, Leto, Franglish,TK, RnBoi, Gambi, and Guy2bezbar, as well as local Lyon talent, Nanaa Benz, Berle, and Ness, who played the opening sets. A rap-focused event such as Fusion demands powerful premium audio with great emphasis placed on precise vocal reproduction, so the organisers engaged leading production supplier, Eurosono to supply a system which could meet the event’s demanding requirements. Eurosono provided a CODA Audio system based on the manufacturer’s flagship AiRAY line array system.
Having been a long-standing owner of CODA Audio line array and point source systems, including an N-RAY system predominately used in corporate events, Eurosono made a recent investment in CODA’s latest CiRAY system to target larger scale applications. When the Fusion opportunity arose at such a large and prestigious venue, the company was able to upscale its CiRAY system and supplement it with AiRAY units sourced from partner rental companies across France. As part of the VCA ‘family’ of line arrays, CiRAY shares the same rigging, cabling, amp racks, and design philosophy as AiRAY, allowing Eurosono to smoothly combine its existing inventory with the additional array units and extra subwoofers.
For what proved to be a very successful, powerful, and energetic event, Eurosono deployed 24 x AiRAY for the mains, complemented by 6 x CiRAY in downfill to ensure consistent coverage across the main audience area. Two clusters of 6 x SC2-F bass extensions in cardioid ‘end fire’ configuration delivered enhanced low end-impact, while 32 x SCP-F dual 18” subwoofers in cardioid setup provided a powerful bass response. Near-field coverage was delivered by an N-RAY frontfill system, with 2 x HOPS12T-Pro as outfills. A total of 18 x LINUS14D DSP amplifiers powered the system.
Technical Sales Engineer at CODA Audio France, Steeve Thimpont, who supported the event, sums up:
