Rigging

At CODA Audio, we take customer safety very seriously. It is vital that our customers, and anyone attending their events, are kept safe at all times.

This is why we provide a number of tools to help our customers to check and ensure their safety. Using System Optimiser, it is simple to check the safety factor of your rigging setup, taking advantage of the software’s automatic calculations and alerts.

Please Note:

CODA Audio is committed to providing support and tools to assist with safety, but the sole responsibility lies with the company and/or individuals installing the system. Ensure you have referred to all local legislation and regulations regarding health and safety, and rigging safety factors. Laws vary by location.

If you are unsure whether a particular configuration of a system can be safely installed, please contact [email protected] before proceeding.

Ensuring Safe Rigging

  • All rigging parts, including cabinet fixtures and fitting, fly-bars, extension bars, shackles, and dollies should be fully inspected every 12 months.
  • All systems will only be used by suitably experienced and qualified individuals.
  • Under no circumstances should damaged equipment be used.
  • All rigging equipment should be visually inspected before use.
  • It is the installer’s responsibility to comply with local laws and regulations.
  • Always check that no metal parts have become damaged in any way, this includes bends (alignment to another part), corrosion via rust, or any other type of damage.
  • All “pins” must be working and fully functioning regularly.
  • Check all product labels, indicators, and data labels are in position and not damaged. Replace any which are worn or missing.
  • Spare parts should be available, and can be obtained via your CODA Audio representative.
  • Accessories must be transported in suitably-designed, rugged flight cases.
  • Use CODA Audio transport dollies/flight cases and soft covers for equipment.

More information can be found in our Rigging Systems Maintenance document.

CODA’s tools can be used to check the safety factor of your setup, and the rigging calculator provided can help to configure large systems safely and securely.
