Described by Winston McCall of Australian metalcore band, Parkway Drive, as “the most metal place on earth!” the Full Force festival in Löbnitz, Germany has been a fixture on the calendar since 1994. In 2019, the event moved from its former site on a glider field to its current Ferropolis location. Once the site of an opencast coal mine, Ferropolis provided a stunning industrial backdrop to Full Force’s consistently powerful line up.
This year’s renewal, which was headlined by Heaven Shall Burn and The Ghost Inside, kicked off on the Hardbowl Stage with sets from the MoreCore DJ crew. For several years event technology specialist Schalldruck Audio of Chemnitz has looked after the Hardbowl stage, which also features band performances. Full Force, as its name suggests, demands powerful, intelligible audio that can handle the demands of a full spectrum of hardcore metal music both prerecorded and live. Schalldruck has relied on CODA Audio products for many years, and deployed CODA’s flagship AiRAY system for the Hardbowl stage. CODA Audio Deutschland’s Sebastian Baehr was in attendance to offer tech support and advice.
The system comprised 16 x AiRAY supplemented by 12 x ViRAY, as well as 14 x SCP-F dual 18”sensor-controlled subwoofers and 4 x SCV-F compact 18” sensor-controlled subwoofers, driven by 3 x LINUS14D amplifiers.
