What made you want to invest in the CODA Audio brand?

Étienne Maurin:

The first element that made CODA Audio attractive was the technologies used, particularly the annular diaphragm that drives the tweeter.

Other technologies also impressed us, such as Sensor Control, which allows for extremely precise bass control, and of course, the entire hardware section, designed to facilitate connectivity thanks to a system of integrated pins. We felt it had a real quality of manufacture, both in the assembly and in the materials used – which inspires real confidence in the CODA products.

At the same time, we saw a surge in demand. Our existing customers, as well as new ones, regularly approached us to expand their portfolio or cope with peaks in activity. CODA Audio was beginning to generate real enthusiasm.

Finally, one of the things that made the difference was the quality of the contact with the CODA Audio France team. From the very first exchanges, we were very well received. There was a feeling of excitement and a real desire to build a solid partnership with a brand that can still be described as an ‘outsider’.

And what would you say today to customers who are interested in the brand?

Étienne Maurin:

We would tell them that they can have complete confidence in both the quality of the products and the technical support offered by CODA Audio, regardless of the type of project they are considering. The team is available, responsive, and capable of providing support on everything from simple recommendations to complex technical issues or pre-tuning. Another strong point is the products’ ease of use. Their compactness and simplicity of implementation, without compromising on performance, are real advantages in the field. Today, scenographies often impose significant constraints: discreet, high-performance systems are required, capable of adapting to demanding specifications. Whether for conventions, sporting events, festivals, or tours, the ability to deploy a compact system that offers performance comparable to configurations twice as large is an undeniable advantage for CODA Audio.

This ties in with my second question about your positioning. You currently have one of the largest CODA Audio portfolios in Europe. Where are you positioned in the market?

Étienne Maurin:

Indeed, we are proud to have a substantial portfolio, which covers a very large part of the CODA Audio range. This is a real asset for deploying complete solutions across the country. We are clearly seeing an increase in opportunities. Although CODA Audio remains less well-known today than the industry’s giants, we firmly believe in its rise. We hope to see it join the top three brands in the coming years. In fact, all the products offered are moving in this direction.

Technically speaking, what do you think sets CODA Audio apart from other brands?

Étienne Maurin:

From the first listen, the effect is striking. You feel something different compared to other brands. The bass control via Sensor Control technology is impressive: it’s precise, dynamic, and flawless. The treble is also very fine and portable, thanks to the waveguide and annular diaphragm. This allows subtle elements of the mix—like reverberations or ambient sounds—to be brought out while ensuring excellent vocal intelligibility.

We also perceive an intense sound pressure, without distortion, with a very comfortable dynamic reserve. This level of performance is made possible by the fine management of electronics and amplification. It’s something that you don’t necessarily find elsewhere. What particularly surprised me was that these performances are achieved with reduced speaker volumes. In logistical terms, this is a huge advantage: we can deploy lighter, more compact systems without sacrificing performance.

And today, what types of operations does your Coda Audio fleet allow you to address?

Étienne Maurin:

Put simply, we can respond to all types of operations. We have more than 600 loudspeakers, all categories combined. This allows us to cover projects as varied as conventions, tours, festivals, arenas, and even stadiums. There’s no limit to what we can equip.

Do you have a recent or upcoming example to share?

Étienne Maurin:

In France, we recently supplied equipment for the King Arthur Festival in Brittany (Spectaculaire). The local provider was equipped with CODA Audio. Internationally, we participated in the Mawazine Festival in Morocco (Dushow), a large-scale event with an impressive main-stage. We also contributed to the 2024 Olympic Games (Videlio), equipping the audience reception areas in various stadiums, with more than 120 HOPS8 speakers deployed throughout the Olympic Games infrastructure. This large-scale project demonstrates the reliability and versatility of CODA Audio solutions. There was also the Rugby World Cup 2023 Fanzone (Concept Group), equipped with CODA Audio.

Upcoming projects, I can mention include Cinéma Paradisio (Aquila), which will be held in Paris in 2025. The event already took place two years ago, and it returns with a CODA Audio broadcast system.
